Only English is allowed on this forum, taffer.

Being a Javascript and AngularJS nerd, I have to agree with you on that. When I rewrote (
http://www.wearytaffer.com/) my site last year, I did it mostly using JS with jQuery, used Handlebars templates for most of the layout, and read all of the structured content from simple JSON files on the server. Of course using Angular for a site like that would be overkill, so I didn't bother, but I've used it enough to know I definitely prefer it to Backbone or other MVC architectures.

<em>it would be better to see more missions come out,so why not make something where maybe ever 3 months a missions comes out?</em>
I'm not really sure what you're proposing here. Who would be creating these missions?
<em>This Super Thief site would only be viable if your site was to actually host everything that you intended to have on it. One big issue is that over the years other sites are no longer maintained, go off line etc so if you were simply planning to link your site to other sites, your project would become a nightmare of broken links.</em>
Yep—bandwidth is on my list of problems to solve. The idea is to host everything myself. I've already looked into no-frills file hosting, and there are a number of options. I might have to use something with a slower pipe to keep costs down, but I think it's doable.
It sounds like there isn't a huge demand for a site like this. Fair enough. I think I'll give it a shot anyway, at least in a basic form to start—it's a good excuse to practice my development skills, and to play some more FMs :)
Thanks for the feedback.

Simple, good, no java script gimmickry.

On the contrary, I think the demand is there, but we've seen so many attempts come and go that I suspect most of us are a bit like "I'll believe it when I see it". I applaud the idea, and your enthusiasm for doing it. My only fear is that you'll bite off more than you can chew and it will go the way of so many similar attempts.
I'm absolutely not saying don't do it. By all means, do it if you are motivated. I wish you success.

Well, I certainly have a history of biting off more than I can chew when it comes to projects like this :)
I've begun work. My aim is to start with something basic, and build onto it from there—with an eye toward eventually recruiting some editorial help, as fortuni suggested.
We'll see what happens—I'm not promising anything. If I get it to a beta state, I'll certainly post a link here for feedback.

I think what most people around here want is a complete and up-to-date FM database. thiefmissions.com was great for years (still is), but it hasn't been updated since around May of 2013. Myself and several others have tried to fill in the gap of everything released since then. But to have it all in one place would be ideal. I've tried playing around with a few different applications on my godaddy site, but never really found the perfect solution.
I'll warn you like others have - this is a very huge heaping pile of work. I tried to create just a simple listing of all FMs in the forums here a while back, and it just got overwhelming. There are probably something like 1200 FMs out there at this point. If you're talking about screenshots and walkthroughs and links and readme files for each one...well, I wish you good luck. Sad thing is, thiefmissions already does all this very well, and is about 95% complete. Tbh, I don't think most people around here care about the antiquated interface, they just want something current.

I have a theory about thiefmissions, although I haven't asked epithumia if it's the case. If you look there, you'll see that he has added my recent releases, but virtually no one else's for several years. I don't think that's any preferential treatment, I just think it's that I include him in the list of people I contact when I'm ready to release a mission, and he complies, and I suspect that most other authors no longer do so for whatever reason. Thiefmissions was the primary site and conduit for releases until a few years ago, and nearly every author would get it to him on release, but I think that's no longer the case. In addition, he no longer (perhaps due to lack of time or interest) frequents this forum regularly, so isn't aware of new mission releases, and consequently they never end up on the site. And due to the nature of the server and how it's hosted, he can't allow anyone else to help him. I'm not sure there's a solution besides encouraging all authors to ask him to host their mission upon release, I'm just stating how I think things have evolved.
