The Redguard manual featured an in-depth section entitled "A Pocket Guide to the Empire", which I recall reading not so long ago was
still the most detailed guide to Tamriel and its history / races / customs / etc... that was available.
Well it seems that they've decided to make it available again (in updated form) with the Collector's Edition of Oblivion.
See the bottom of this page:

It says the new version is 112 pages, whereas my Redguard version is 48 pages (or 49 if you count the explanatory letter that precedes it), however I suspect with the size of game boxes these days, the page size will be rather smaller in the new one, and so it will surely not contain twice the information of the original. Still, no doubt the development of Morrowind and Oblivion will have provided additional information of note to be added to this guide.
On the down side, it probably lacks the entertaining hand-written annotations to the 'official propoganda' that peppered the original :)
If you really
really love the history and lore of Tamriel and do not already own Redguard, this would be well worth picking up the Collector's Edition for.
