Has anyone noticed how they have to enter their age before being able to access some game-related sites? Is this not pointless and stupid? Anyone can select a higher age than they actually are, and it's more likely to turn off visitors who do not understand why it exists in the first place.

It's like that whole "Game experience may change during online play." thing... *DUH* That is somewhat common sense. The first example is much more annoying though, as it actually makes you do work!

They're not really trying to protect certain audiences from certain content, they're trying to protect themselves. This way they at least have some basic defense against lawsuit trolls trying to enact horrible buttrape over their precious offspring having been exposed to inadequate violent content in a GameTrailers video or some shit.

And as for "common sense", it's in short supply and of little value to most these days.

i put a birthdate in of 1806 and it still plays the video of the game, like am likely to be 203 years old.

The worst ones are the ones that have the age thing, then you get an advert for some non game related not your country related advert, then a message that says due to copyright reasons the video has been removed.
