In TDP/Gold, the results are mixed, but always ineffective. The crate is sometimes knocked back by the impact, or the arrow passes through without collision, or the arrow disappears but the rope deployment sound is played anyway. It always worked for me in TMA, but I haven't done it since I got DromEd working so I could explore the maps in full detail. Also, I did it with a pre-patched TMA, on a friend's computer back in 2001, and haven't tried with my own patched copy that I have now. I'll have to try it again, but I used to do it whenever a crate, a ledge, and a rope arrow presented an opportunity. :D
EDIT: Aw. It's not working, anymore. :( The arrow just knocks the crate back and disappears.

I have this habit of always closing a door behind me in Thief(I can't stand it if I leave a door open) but I think there is a reason behind it(guards notice that kind of thing.
And I always scroll the inventory to none after using it jsut because I don't want to accidentally use something.
Same here. ;)

I don't see the DRD818 on the pirate flag but I do see it on the dragon banner. At first I thought it was a license plate until I found this thread. :joke:

- I save speed and invisibility potions for a rainy day... and 99% of the time end up never using them as a result
- When I find a bunch of crates, I feel the urge to either throw them on the highest spot I can find, or bash them to bits (with a hammer, rock, zombie chunks, or other heavy object. Not with my sword or blackjack)
- In T2 especially I avoid using up my healing potions. If I need health and there's enough food around I use that instead. After that, healing fruits if I have them. And finally, after exhausting that, then I resort to the potions
- I developed a compulsion to hide bodies well even if I know no one will pass through the area. Somehow the idea of leaving a body in an open, well lit spot rubs me the wrong way, regardless of the circumstances
- I avoid using gas arrows, unless I can get 3 or more enemies together and knock them out with a single one. Anything less is a waste. I try and do the same with holy water on zombies, make it splash on as many as possible
- Sometimes I avoid putting out torches even if I need to, because it will spoil the ambiance, especially in a nicely decorated area

Hang out on TTLG in 2015 :cheeky:
Also refuse to KO guards until reaching a tricky part that requires one too many quick loads, then going on a blackjack spree.

I always check the top of wardrobes for loot
Although this isn't entirely pointless as I've occasionally found things, it's a very small number of missions though

I do the door closing thing too. And the wardrobe check as well.
My favorite evil thing to do though, and it's very unlike my normal playing style, is knock an AI out and then throw them into lava. I laugh hysterically when I hear them let out their final scream.
Is that wrong?

I do that too. Also under the beds (as much as I can see), behind them, inside fire places, behind doors... But yet I always seem to miss the tiny but obvious switches.

Same here. I always try to be "realistic" and KO like 0-3 guards. Except when I just give up and go knocking out everything that moves.

I do that too :D except with every item. I always shoot only like 5 arrows in a single mission, but it always takes like 2 hrs to finish the mission, just because you have to ghost more. But I'm very stingy in other games as well. I never take health or ammo items if I'm close to the max and taking the item would waste the surplus.
And here's mine:
- I play with very low gamma, I so it looks and feels more realistic. I have quick keys for gamma+/- so I can adjust it according to the area (dark gray floors get very easily pitch black and white floors never) I try to keep it on the level which would be realistic, but sometimes when it's just too dark, I up it a few notches and pretend Garret's eyes get used to the darkness. Epic role playing skills ;)
