Upto Act 3 now. This game is awesome.
Definate parallels to the Lethal Weapon movies despite the space sci fi setting.

Just beat the game. What a great game seriously. Such a great follow up to snatcher.
Real shame this never got the proper english treatment all those years ago. Huge huge shame.
The only annoying part was having to switch emulators when I got upto just before the credits since the ps1 emulator "psx" cant handle something unusual that Konami used during the credits sequence. Rest of the game runs crystal perfect. Works fine in epsxe with the P.E.O.P.S sound plugin as stated in the translation patch readme.

The readme pretty much tells you not to use psx, dude. ePSXe is the officially supported emulator. It takes a little work to configure initially but it ran fine for me using the e}i{ plugin.

After so many years of being unplayable for the majority of people, I'm okay with some localisation. Unlike with animu fansubs, in games it would be unsuitable to insert asterisked notes explaining Japanese cultural references or language puns. Also not bothered about the insertion of internet memes, it'd be like the good old Working Designs days where they would slip Clinton jokes into Lunar.
The newer Criterion Collection DVDs of the Kurosawa films had newer localised subs too, i.e. the use of colloquial English swears.

I knew that before playing the game. Psx is my preferred emulator though. Very little configuration required, and works with most games very well.

Had a read of that thread over at romhacking.net, and I have to say that little discrepancies of what was being said in audio and what was coming up on screen did strike me numerous times throughout the game. For example, often you`d hear "Jonathan" or "BCCH" or someones name or whatever said and it wouldn`t come up in the text. Also there were numerous times where there was a Japanese word that sounds like "sooo" which receives different translations of its meaning throughout the game. Sometimes its translated to be "fuck", othertimes its "damn". This is probably a correct translation, I know no japanese at all besidies 1-10 (after doing karate as a kid), and the words I recall from this translation which I heard alot as I played Arc the Lad 1-3. But the little inaccuracies were there if you starting paying attention.
Least now I know theres swearing in the Arc the Lad games after having discovered the translations of the word I heard so often :).

Still haven't gotten around to play Snatcher, but plan on doing that soon.
Question: What kind of a PC does one need for a Mega CD and/or Playstation emulator? This coming semester, I'll be in London without a real gaming PC and just my basic (though fairly new) laptop. Which is way more powerful than either of these systems, of course, but I know emulators can be difficult.
Also, wouldn't be surprised if one of these comes out for the DS at some point.

Can't help you without a list of specs.
A 2+ GHz Core 2 Duo should be more than enough to crank a PS1 emulator at high resolutions. I presume that modern Intel onboard graphics should be up to snuff as well, but I have no way to test out that theory.

Emulators use (unsurprisingly if you just think about it) the cpu mostly.

PS1 emulation has come a very long way. These days it's down to ePSXe and psx, the former having more options and compatibility and the latter being easier to set up.
