I would actually like to see some little things left behind by the Mechanists. I didn't like how Thief 3 completely got rid of any single little reference to them.

Ah yes! Hand Mages! I keep posting I'd like to see them so I shoulda caught that, myself.
No Mechanists, but definitely remnants of their massive power and presence here and there. I wouldn't mind seeing someone who wasn't a Mechanist, but admired them, never knowing about Karras's true scheme.

Could be very cool. Always attuned--The Eye and The One, never to remain just observers but to be part of history.
And it would be another reason to bring back Daniel Thron.

What a lot of people did like about T2 were things other than Mechanists, like the Thieves' Highway. And it's a pretty eclectic mix of tastes with people thinking any one or two of the four games (including TDP vs. Gold) are superior to the others, or happy with all.

Yea, there's no way (in my mind) that Metal Age was better than The Dark Project...the Mechanists had their fun, and they can remain a fringe lore factor, but not make a triumphant or central return.

Why not? Something about conspiracy and vengeance against Garrett.
I think Friend Vylnia, Brother Cavador, Brother Pheegan (or whatever he was named), and Friend Darius will be alot angry about what's happened at Soulforge, and she surely suspects who has been the author of this.
