The poor BugBeasts get no love. Plat' likes 'em, but likes humanizing them more and more with each iteration.
The BugBeasts were one of the Trickster's favorite minions to send in to devastate the enemy.

The buggies were not human enough to be loved. They should have their own personality, like the apebeasts, with funny, barely understandable dialogue. Although, they should still be deadly, perhaps even deadlier than before.
BTW, would you like them to be more mostrous, without that funny singing and walking, or would you want them to be more human, speaking and stuff?

The wonderful quality of your pictures and designs on their own merits aside, I like the bugbeasts to be as they are, though the walking could be less stiffer. Hunched over is their posture. They are preying mantises humanized, and made more monstrous for their bugshot ranged attack, not humans made into mantises. They are all female and I don't believe they don't love their Woodsie Lord, nor are they enslaved. He sends his beastesses into battle. In the Maw, we see how his beasts are hatched whole and ready to fight. They very likely do not breastfeed, nor speak paganese, nor need to. They only have claws for jabbing and need no hands and the Woodsie Lord wouldn't let them starve. We don't know if they ever use their upper limbs for anything other than balance and wounding. A spear could supplement a bugshot, but is redundant and human and requires someone to make it for them, or for you to give them fingers and a human mind.:)
In spite of the cooing and feminine sound, few realize they are females and the beastesses mentioned in the pagan writing.

Yeah, the ones that make those clicking sounds and spit flies that bite at you. And walk like they've got a nasty case of diaper rash. Or wait .... am I getting my monsters mixed up again? sorry ......

It should be noted that they bugged Garrett, too:
"Those bug-ladies make your skin crawl. You're not leaving any of them to get out into the city."
Was there an objective like that in TDP? I don't remember. :weird:

It's triggered if you do damage to one, but if you don't harm them you won't see that objective.
