I began posting in the Community Chat section as part of my endeavor to improve the social experience in my life.
I chuckled at this a bit at first but then I got to thinking. I
have become a lot more social and less introverted since I started posting on TTLG (and online in general). Though whether or not this is just a natural course of growing up more I can't say. I guess it's possible that talking to people online will help relieve anxiety about talking to people in "real life" as well.

well well well
First off: I didn't get hit by a truck, nor did any of the rest of the band. And nothing painful or traumatic has gone down, just a general moving on with life. A lot can happen over a few years, and we've more or less scattered to the winds--out of the final lineup or two of the band, I'm still really only in regular contact with ScaryMike, although I'm on good terms with everyone else and wish them well. Some have gone on to form other bands, some (like me and Mike) have instead poured our energy into other endeavors.
That said, there are some changes I want to make to the website to wrap up Poly P properly, as I'd like to basically make everything we ever recorded available for free download, as well as the more-or-less-mixed final show we did. I haven't done this because it takes work and the further away from it all the less it seems to matter overall, but I haven't forgotten.
Which brings us to another topic here: among the list of those who haven't forgotten is you, which actually means a lot to me. I intended to reply to both your PM and your comment in the White Stripes thread, but I hovered too long trying to decide what to say and the window more or less passed for both. But still: Poly P may not have left much of a legacy but I'm proud of what we accomplished during our seven year attempt to "make it," and I'm similarly proud of the music we wrote and recorded, even if some of it was a little "of the time" and hasn't exactly aged gracefully. I had a great time and learned a lot during my time with the band, and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
And seriously: the thought of people still listening to our music and passing it on to friends puts a massive smile on my face. I appreciate the interest, and it inspires me to wrap things up properly online and give the band the post-mortem treatment it deserves.
Thanks, man.
