I've finished the MP campaign and they only item we got along the way was a flag. I'd be surprised if the store items drop randomly. The thing with the store is it points to further game DLC because realistically who is going to bother buying stuff for the existing MP, and who will be replaying the MP that much?

I got a beanie and a flag for sp+mp, nothing more. maybe it's tied to a specific achievement in the SP and MP campaign ? I can't tell when I got them, I always turn off steam ingame so I don't get the annoying achievement popups.
I agree the shop is silly but so are many gamers. If they really buy that stuff I say: go for it Valve. exploit it as long as you don't give disadvantages to ppl that don't buy them, especially in MP centric games.

Yeah, I can't help but agree. I've happily played TF2 for a hundreds of hours without buying a single item, and I can't fault Valve for making a little extra cash from people too lazy to wait for drops/crafts/trades, especially considering how much free content they keep adding to the game.

Can't speak for the 360 version, but my laptop utterly destroys the PS3 version's graphics.

Is anyone interested to do the multiplayer coop this friday? I've taken the day off and I don't know many people still interested in games, and none of them have the hardware or interest needed to play portal 2.

I'm in the same boat. Among those friends/family I have who do play games, none have a good PC and 50 bucks to spend on the game.
While I'm not available Friday due to travel, if you are up for it this weekend my response would be Hell Yes.

Try turning off multi-core rendering, that's been known to cause nasty issues in all Source engine games. I disabled it first thing, before even trying to play the game.
I don't know if that was necessary or not, since I never tried playing with it on, but I never ran into a single crash in the entire game, so... worth a try!
