I haven't ordered Portal 2 but I'm gonna go ahead and play that Amnesia potatolevel right now anyway, just to BOOST DA POWER.
Finished up the 'Justine' expansion last night myself. Pretty short, but a good story and some real terrifying moments. It make some want to try out some of the fan missions for the game.
Anyways, this whole thing is a pretty cool concept. Steam has always had a unique relationship with indie games (with some calling it "indie life support") so this kind of back and forth promotion with Portal 2 is neat to see. If nothing else, people got new, free content for any of those games they already own, PLUS the ability to play Portal 2 early.

I've played a few of the fan missions for Amensia and they're mostly not very good. Which is why I wasn't expecting much from Justine. But holy hell it was good. :D Took me about 2 hours to play through so I wouldn't say it was short either. I guess the story is Portal-inspired but it really felt more like something out of a SAW-movie. Freaky as hell. As for the choices you have to make, I didn't do perfectly. The last guy, the policeman, died. It was a tense situation and I wish I could say that I wasn't sure what I was doing, but honestly I had a bad feeling about what would happen when I slid out that last door and shut it behind me.

Regarding that scene -
The suitors can't see you, they rely on sound (or at least, that one does). This means that while there's no way you can finish closing the policeman's door before the suitor bursts in, you'll be just fine as long as you move slowly. That said, that whole scene is easily the most tense chase I've played in a video game.

Point me to the nearest another "blatantly obvious marketing scheme" in the world of vidyagames, would you kindly.
Well, there was that time when devs of Dante's Inferno sent fat cash to various game journalists.
Oh, and Cold Yellow.

Don't mind the whole thing that much. I actually went ahead and got AaAaAA!, since it seems like a fun way to kill ten minutes.

If you can get anywhere in AAAA!!!111 in 10 minutes I'd like to see a video.

So I've repeatedly been tempted by that pre-order button given the hype train steaming in and out of my brain
all fucking week, but I've not given in because, uh, what do we know about Portal 2, again?
Exactly. In one ear and out the other, Portal 2 hype train! Take that! Ha!
So it is with great delight that I look upon your vain and lugubrious exertions involving potatoes and sacks, and laug... sorry? What'd you say? We're getting a.. what? Local retail release for just a little more than $15?
Uh.
Well, I'm still not playing with your stupid potatoes, Valve. I've got
standards to live up to.
It's not incredibly often, but sometimes, there are benefits to living where I do.

Completed the SP mode. Great. This is what I wished Portal 1 had been like. Well, not quite - I didn't expect it to be this involved - but still.
If anyone is up for MP contact me on Steam.
