Yeah, Blizzard too. But isn't Valve universally beloved by everyone but me?

4chan being big about Valve, fans coming from there are hypocrites ready to froth at the mouth and pretend to boycott some of their games while still playing them. Apart from that, I don't see many people hating Valve.

I finished the SP at last. It was one of the best games I have played in my long life.
They managed to stay true to Portal1, introduce new mechanics,
rearrange the puzzles and expectations you start getting a few times in natural ways,
get in more story and an emotional, believable character arc for the lead players combined with
one of the best bossfights/conclusions for a long time and a satisfying and surprising ending. beautiful.
That is inspired craftsmanship on every level. There will be the few things to complain/niggle about
here and there but the sum of its parts: excellence.

When you manage to not post the stupidest paragraphs ever I'll consider Portal 2 MP with you.

if anybody is wondering how the PS3 / pc / mac thing goes this is what happens.
They've cleverly made sure that You can't just sell your product code to somebody if you buy the ps3 version and want some money back. First you have to play portal 2 on your ps3 and there's a menu item on the main menu to link your steam account to your PSN account. then you can install your steam copy after that. This is great now that my son had arrived, Carting him down to the basement if I want some time to play might be a little problematic, but playing portal 2 in the living room will be much easier, and I'm pretty sure your savegames can be stored on the cloud.

The one thing about Portal 2 is that I wish it was a bit longer.
Specifically, they tended to introduce a new mechanic, then do a few puzzles with it, and then move on to the next mechanic. I can't fault it too much, as it's the same formula that they used in Portal 1, and it does work well.
Still, it would have been nice to see more "complex" puzzles that just mixed in all the mechanics into one big, long complex puzzle that needed thorough thinking to solve.
Or maybe that's what the co-op campaign is like? I haven't quite felt like trying that yet - I suspect I'd want to acquire a microphone and a good friend for that kind of thing.

That sucks. It also goes against all of these slobbering reviews I read. They state that it gets quite involved after briefly introducing you to a new mechanic. Oh well.
