I finished coop, while it's less involving (story-wise) than the sp it still has so many little details, endless glados responses and another insanely well made credit sequence that I can't complain.
Just like the SP it does not have very difficult chambers, my coop buddy and I never got stuck and played thru it in one sweep with just a little guessing.
But I never thought they would ramp up the difficulty, Portal1 vanilla was an easy game and Valve's
games in general are on the easy side (except HL1 on highest diff).
the animations and gestures for the robots are top notch and we were hugging and high-fiving at
every corner, giving glados enough to complain about.
Just kill yourself in the HUB area by flinging yourself into the pit (just like the pit sp achievement) and get treated to around 8 different and escalating glados respones.
I replayed SP and while I finished the puzzles much faster I spent much more time listening to that
excellent script and admiring the different ways Valve tries to avoid "grey test chamber" fatigue.
Bravo

Do you actually have some physical disability that stops you from posting like a normal person?

Nothing in Portal 2 SP compares to Portal 1's Advanced Test Chambers. Indeed, I think the later Portal 1 test chambers were more difficult than anything in Portal 2, although perhaps the experience makes Portal 2 easier than it would have been. Certainly they were more deadly. The only place in Portal 2 SP where I actually died was titled "The Part Where He Kills You", lol.
But really, I think Portal 2 had more "down time" than Portal 1. Significant stretches that involve little or no gameplay worthy of the term. Generally speaking, with few notable exceptions, the "games within the game", i.e. the test chambers, are much more fun than the spaces between them. Portal had some of that effect too, but it seemed much longer and indeed duller in Portal 2.

This.
I finally finished the singleplayer campaign yesterday and whilst it was pretty much uniformly excellent it's unfortunate there's no massive puzzle where they go all-out with all the mechanics
This exactly. The game was fantastic overall, but I was dissapointed that only a few of the test chambers took any real effort. With everything they introduced, I was really looking forward to some huge challenge that put together everything we'd seen so far.
That said, I think a big part of the reason why this game isn't as hard as Portal 1 is because we're so used to the mechanics. A lot of the concepts we struggled with in the first game were old hat by the second. I'd go so far as to say that someone who plays Portal 2 who has never played the original would actually find the second one pretty tough.
Regardless, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Valve does with co-op. They've traditionally been excellent at keeping their games updated and giving players new content. Co-op seems like the perfect place to drop in some DLC to really challenge seasoned players.

I'm a bit worried by the fact that you can equip your robots ala TF2, complete with in-game shop to purchase ... gestures. Eww.
They must be huge, because the Viking hat is tiny on them.

A lot of people are freaking out about the robot dress-up DLC for Portal 2, but I don't see the reason.
Is it stupid? Hell yes. Who wants to dress up their robot just for a 3-4 hour co-op experience? That said, it's entirely optional (ala TF2). You gain no benefits and everyone is on the same playing field.
Valve has been offering free content to its games for years and it's a logical move for them to offer this kind of service. As long as the items don't actually offer some kind of otherwise unobtainable advantage, I don't see the problem.

Yeah, I know. It just somehow seems more silly to me in Portal than it does in TF2. I guess because Portal 2 already has item drops (the weapons), so it's not as out-of-place.

Yeah, it`s a lot sillier than TF2. That said, if Valve wants to let people be morons for cash then all the power to them.

If people spending money on silly robot hats increases the odds of HL3 appearing any sooner, then all the POWER TO THEM :)

Does the Portal 2 stuff also randomly drop with time?
I got a Viking hat (from having it in TF2) and I think a beanie for finishing the game. Haven't tried the co-op yet.
