If there had to be a "PC monopoly" I can't think of many companies I'd rather have in control of it than Valve.
hanging yourself with the BT telephone cable of your 56k modem would be more appropriate
I honestly have a real hard time believing that even basic ADSL internet isn't available to you. Poland might be pretty ghetto, but it's hardly fucking Somalia.

Actually, a halfway decent internet service is reportedly available where I live. Since some two weeks ago. I'll probably be switching from my current provider soon.
However, the problems with downloads/connection are just one of the gripes I have with Steam.

And in addition buying it on PS3 will get it free for you on PC via Steamplay (buying on one platform gives you the game free on another - currently only working between Mac and PC)!
I think I'm going to have to get the PS3 version, unless the price difference is silly.
Now that is a cool offer - good way of getting the game and playing it with my GF. (Coop rules.)

Honestly, Steam is the best thing to happen to PC gaming since dedicated 3D cards. I lol @ folks who still think it is the anti-christ.

How's gaming back in 1998 koki? Still flipping through your manual to find the 5th word on 18th page to start the game?

That steamplay thing is really great. I think Valve is being rather generous allowing people to own both versions of a game and only paying one price. Then again, that's how it should be anyway. Why pay for the same game twice?

How's gaming in 2011? Still need to install third-party app and be constantly connected to the 'net to play a single player game?
Third word from fifth line from page 14 would be more ~1990 I believe
Only if no achievement tracking makes me sad.
