Well, that was 1/2 of my statement. I sure as Hell ain't giving up, I am very early into it, I just was sharing my impressions so far. I love HL2 and will be feverishly attacking this one this weekend. Nice to hear confirmation of my suspicions that the best is yet to come. :D

You know what the problem with the episodes is? They're too feckin' short. They're structured like miniature versions of a full game, so they go through the whole prelude to setup to climax within 4-5 hours, and it just isn't enough to sustain a complete experience.
This being Valve, they're very well-constructed regardless. And the episodes have their moments. The first part of Ep.1 - where you navigate the core - gave me a warm and cozy feeling of deja vu; it was almost like I'd been whisked back to HL1.

I finished Still Alive on the xbox the other day - brought back some good memories from the days I played my games on the PC. Heck I think I still have a dvd copy of Half Life 2 around somewhere.
Anyway, i like the alternative ending to Portal with the male robotic voice and something dragging you away. However Valve need to at least give us some indication that HL Episode 3 is being worked on since at the moment its like they've abandoned us.
For the record, the Half Life series of games are far and beyond the best and my most beloved games I've ever played. And yes sportsfans, that includes Borderlands.
