pretty good stuff. let's hope for Portal meets HalfLife. I don't care for a new engine, I want those episodes to end.

the aperture technology that eli didn't want to be found by the combine is a time portal gun and is somehow obtained by chell during portal 2 within the borealis - a ship still under the control of a more advanced version of glados fused with the memories of cave johnson. time portal mechanics introduce a whole new element of gameplay which is used in portal 2 to influence the events happening in episode 3, making both games interdependent story-wise while still standalone. everything ends in both games with defeating the ai (portal 2) and a few advisors trying to use the technology to their advantage (ep 3). alyx then tries to outrun gordon so she can use it herself to go back in time, prevent the resonance cascade and save her father but fails along with a destruction of the borealis, coming with an uncontrolled time warp engulfing gordon whose whereabouts in time and space thus remain to be defined by hl3.
