Which part are you asking about?

What the hell is a "Portal Hidden"?
Fringe on 24/11/2007 at 15:12
Oh he's talking about the hidden ending that unlocks the portal gun upgrade, of course.
You can find it
right next to the bow upgrade
I agree with your assessment of Portal, Hidden. It's just so...
fresh.

I gotta agree on the quoting. I love portal, but I love two floors above Gamer Hall, and if they say "the cake is a lie" one more time I am going to hurt them.
And people who sing the end credits song aren't just being obnoxious, they're ruining the surprise and spouting spoilers.
Portal is a great argument for playing games the moment they come out.

First off, the fact that it was based on ND would negate its freshness if and only if Portal depended entirely on its gameplay to be fresh. ND didn't have the setting or plot or humour of Portal, which I'm a big fan of. Also the fact that something somewhere existed that used the same gameplay conciet doesn't mean that it's not fresh. A big studio Hollywood movie can be fresh even if it's a similar style or plot, or based on, some indie movie that not many people saw. It just has to be a refreshing change from the norm. ND existing hardly means that wacky portal based puzzles are par for the course in the FPS genre.
