Spent my day testing two fan missions. Does that count? :)

Oy, nobody better speak ill about the KC, you 21st century schizoid freaks
Page two requests your presence in the court of the crimson bling.

That was the point :) I still love KC and listen regularly to their albums (personal fave is Red) so I don't see why we shouldn't be able to enjoy a good ol' Thief session once in a while.
Anyway, yesterday was a nice sunny day. Enjoyed the hell out of a morning with a good and strong coffee, reading in the park.
Then went home to bake some cheese and dried tomato salty cakes for a meal with the people I've been helping this year to organise a chamber music festival. Ended up going home on foot at 1 AM drunk like a single mother who just got dumped. Having a dinner filled with long talks with (good) musicians and (credible) people from the parisian artistic scene is a real eye-opener when you're an engineer bored to death by his job.
So yesterday might have been a turning point in my life.

Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head
Seriously though. Birthday weekend debauchery saw the third night of drinking finish up around 2:30am, before I returned home and decided to play poker until 8am or so - that was on sunday. Whoops.
Waking up this morning was hard. Dropped my 18-month-old at daycare by 9am, 8 tables of poker going by 9:30. Down a thousand euros by 10:30. Took a break to avoid playing like shit, ended up falling asleep on the couch in front of a Liverpool game for around three hours.
Decided that I should actually get up in a brief moment of sleepy clarity. Back to poker, up €1600 in the afternoon session ending at 3pm. Good save.
Baby picked up at 4, home by 5, salmon and salad at 7. Stalked a couple of European soft targets across virtual felt until 11. Trying to teach myself card handling until midnight. Posting, then off to bed.

I returned from 4-day work trip last night, so I was super-happy to have only desk job today, didn't have to leave home at all. Got up around 9, made coffee and took time enjoying it while browsing the news, mails etc. Happy happy joy, I finally found interviewees for two articles I'm working on so I got a good day's work done. Around noon I took an exercise break - usually I do a combo of yoga, taiji and eurythmy, today it was just hopping and sweating to Weird Al Yankovic :D
Later we cooked texmex dinner with morbus, after that it was just lazy time and a couple of Angel episodes. Now I'm gonna have a cup of green tea, then it's bedtime and a bit of Terry Pratchett before sleep.

I was woken up by our budgies chirping softly at about 5am which is too dang early for me so I snuck under the blanket a bit and tried to get some more sleep. Finally dozed off about 5 minutes before the alarm clock rung. Crap. Snoozed it for about twenty minutes, then got out of bed.
Blinking blearily into the mirror, I tried to make the best of my mess of hair. Seriously, I've been putting off getting my hair cut for, like, three months. Oh well. Turned on the computer, drank a bit of iced tea and had some chocolate. I never have enough time to fix me a proper breakfast.
Browsed a few automotive-oriented pages, found some articles to translate and/or compile. Checked my mailbox for spam and press releases. I work as a journalist, test-driving and reviewing cars. It's that kind of dream job you love and hate at the same time. It'd be perfect if not for the insane deadlines and having to get up bloody early to write the daily news.
Three articles later, at about 10am, I got off the computer and shaved my ugly mug. Not enough time to do it properly so I kept a goatee which my gf doesn't like but I kinda do. A quick shower and then off to the once-a-week Monday team meeting. The editor didn't come today so we dropped by a café where I had my usual doppio, twice the sugar, no milk. Split the weekly duties and arranged terms with our photographer.
Then me and her headed out to have some car pics taken. Spent way too much time on it, usually we're done in about an hour or so but we had some trouble finding a good location and I also had to have the car washed, which I paid out of my own pocket. I had to buy half a tank of petrol last week, too. The weather was perfect, though, clear blue skies.
I dropped her off at the underground and went to my parents' place. Met with mum and picked up some birthday presents they had brought from Switzerland. 1 litre bottle of Havana 3yo, really nice, and some cheese and smoked ham too. Went back home and got on the next batch of articles.
Wrote two more articles and a review of the Volvo I drove 2 weeks ago, I'm quite satisfied with the way the review turned out, and it appears our readers enjoy it too. Then my gf came home from work and I fixed a quick supper. Spaghetti alla puttanesca. Yeah, whore style. Took pics of the cooking process and posted them to my Facebook recipe page. A few peeps liked it too which made me happy enough to actually sit down and think about my day and put it down here as well.
