Well spotted, sir. You certainly won't be needing an optometrist any time soon.

How can one person be so full of wrong?
Penny Arcade is Sturgeon's Law in motion.

The ongoing success of Penny Arcade is proof that nerds don't really care about lazy writing or even the existence of jokes as long as the topic concerns something around which orbits their lives.
Good looking strip, though. Half the team is towing his weight.

Technically that patent would apply to irc programs and all chat programs for that manner. Not that it would succeed since its so ridiculous. But in theory atleast they could sue basically the internet itself since the internet and all internet related programs to it do what that patent is specifying. Stupid US patent laws.

How many of you folks who hate PA think Perry Bible Fellowship is funny? Show of hands.
Muzman on 9/1/2009 at 04:49
Funnier than PA at least. Has occasional wit and flare and is not a terse visual accompanyment to a really long news post about some current event using no more insight than the average bit of internet blabber.
PA is at least better than that other one with the miscarriage. By 'better' I mean PA is too blandly inoffensive to worry about.

PBF always does this thing where the punchline is supposed be funny for its horrifying perspective change, which often ends up funny, other times just horrifying.
I don't know why you'd compare them, though. One's well-drawn and intelligently written (if occasionally obvious), the other is simply the culmination and artistic embodiment of every marginally funny, self-absorbed gaming-forum asshole.
hmmm...

When you have to read a one page blog post to be able to get the joke in a comic strip, then the comic is crap.
june gloom on 9/1/2009 at 05:12
Reading comprehension, Aja: I didn't compare them. I asked the question because anyone who likes PBF invariably froths at the mouth at PA. Incidentally, I often find PA funny (sometimes it's more of a political cartoon and isn't really meant to be that funny) and I think I'm the only person who thinks PBF is really rather trite, boring, and meant only for pseudointellectuals who like to pretend they understood the Far Side.
Parking Lot is Full > PBF.

Fixed.
Also, PBF is awesome.
