They've copyrighted something that already existed, there's a chance that MUD or MUD2 already has a copyright on this which would break this copyright. Wasn't it possible to talk to other players in doom in the multiplayer mode.
Its like copyrighting breathing air.
There's probably a big chance they'll piss off the wrong organisation, and they'll one day wake up dead, in concrete shoes at the bottom of some river or lake.:thumb:
there copyright goes back as 1996, Doom being the first 3d game with multiply mode was released on December 10, 1993. means they've copyright other peoples work.
but then again US patents are not recognised in some countries outside of the USA as being legal, you need an international patent to cover the rest of the world. so MMO game and multiplayer games develped in countries that do not recognise US patients as being legal would not be covered by this patient. Therefore a game like lord of the rings online being developed by a european company would not be infringing this copyright.
