That's quite the compelling argument, however several misstatements on your part invalidate most of it and in any case I don't agree with the premise.

Chris Taylor and Jason Anderson have both done a lot of work post Fallout(s), some of it (VtMB) very, very good. The Levine hate is getting
real boring though, Bioshock may not have been anywhere near as awsum as reviewers make it out to be, but it was still better than 95% of the games released recently.

I fear two things:
1) The combat will suck. VATS looks awesome, but shooting without it looks like a real chore.
2) The animations. They look. Awful.
(Just watch the Bad Karma video...when the guy shields himself from the nuclear blast and then resumes his normal posture...we're talking Half Life 1 here)
I've reserved a copy. I'm sure it'll be worth it (I'm trading in Dead Space so it'll only really cost me like 20 bucks for it) and last a long, long time.
