Personally, I couldn't get into the Fallout games because of the mechanics (before you start bashing away at me, I have no problems with complex games, the Fallout system just felt wrong for some reason), and Fallout 3 by contrast looks like I might finally enjoy a game in this the series. So...
(Oh, and I love the original DX, hate IW and am actually quite optimistic about DX3)

My understanding is that, yes, Bethesda is using SecuROM.
BUT, and this is important: it doesn't install any null registry entries, hidden files, drivers, or services, and has no activation limits. All it does is a DVD check.
If this is true, and someone else can corroborate it: then this is completely acceptable to me. I'd actually be willing to install the retail version without pirating it or using a crack.
The only trouble is, this form of SecuROM is causing conflicts with other versions of SecuROM used on other titles. Can you believe it? :p SecuROM has had to release a patch to fix this.

Yeah, it's super easy at first, but there's plenty of challenge once you're around level 5 or 6 and fighting super mutants, armored radscorpions that just won't die, and other tough shit.
Even early on, the raiders, in groups, can eat away your health pretty quickly.

Just killed my first behemoth mutant with a mini-nuke....this game is amazing. bad animations and textures at times, but man is it fun!

So I've been playing for several hours, currently exploring the graydirt(?) town full of fire ants and dear fucking god this game is boring. It feels like such a chore. I will hold off with more detailed judgment until I play a bit more.
