Very cool:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:
I would try to find it out myself but my head hurts
What will be the differences and common features between yours and the one tolsen is making?
EDIT: Sorry used ctrl+F with misspelled name :tsktsk:

I never used TFMM, but from what I gather it has a web based element; you can download FMs with it, but I shouldn't say any more because I'd be guessing. And tolsen's website has gone down so I can only see a few blurred screenshots on Google.
I think it can be summed up as his one being more thorough. Some people like lots of features, others are put off by them. My aim is for NewDarkLoader to be very close to Darkloader but with a few changes to take advantage of NewDark's features (multiple FM installations, disable mods per FM). In other words, my primary audience is people who are already using FMSel but would like a Darkloader-style interface. I very quickly switched to FMSel so I don't know if there are any other problems with Darkloader besides the possibility of FM installations being messed up.

pretty sure it ignores modpaths/ubermodpaths, and that's not a good thing, it breaks any dml fixes for example.

I wish one of these loaders would integrate the dml fixes so it doesn't require the user to go hunting the forums for them (right now you have to ask yourself "does this have a dml fix?" for EVERY mission).
Looks like a very good possibility...

Planned features:
Add support for DML Mods. Some FMs don't work properly under NewDark, so voodoo47 has been working on (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145374) these little files that rectify the problems without modifying the FMs themselves. I haven't thought much about how it will be set up but the result will be a set of DML files being extracted/copied to the FM's folder before starting the game.

I've been going through the ND docs and I think it's possible to set up a folder where all FM dmls would reside, and the engine would be able to activate them when a matching mission is launched, this means there would be no need of manual patching on the user side.

the question is, should it be part of TFix? should it be part of the loader? how to handle the updates? not too sure.

Only a little hunting. The sticky mentioned by R Soul, "(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145374) Thief FM NewDark fixes repository" and in the Fan Mission Links thread, "(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143759) Fms that won't work properly with New Dark - Summary of Issues in OP" also lists and links other fixes available for missions apart from dmls.

Apart from the DML files there are also a number of old T1 missions that do not work correctly unless you install the old convict.osm file, would this also be possible to configure or would that be one complication too many?
voodoo47 on 18/5/2016 at 17:27
including the convict in a modpatch with dmls for that particular mission should do the trick.

Development's coming along nicely. I have it installing and uninstalling FMs, including backing up and restoring saves/screenshots. I recently added a min-max date filter. It currently uses the exact same same save/screens system that FMSel uses (i.e. the same filename/location). My next task is to import the saves backups that Darkloader uses. That's fairly simple. Extract contents, put them in a saves folder, zip them up in the new location.
After testing 7zip support I found that performance was okay, but not quite as fast as FMSel. I therefore added an option for this to use 7Zip itself if the user has it on their system.
