Reading the tags generated by FMSel (NDL can use a copy of fmsel.ini):

This is in the area that used to be for editing FM details. That now pops up in new window. The advantage being that there won't be a blank space when just looking through the missions.
And I've just noticed duplicate tags, so that bug won't last long.
edit: and it's gone.
Updating tags should be fairly simple. A tag filter could be more of a challenge, but I'll find out when I start trying to set it up.

if you can have it import darkloader .ini descriptions, that would be great. I have so many notes written for each level there.

Yes, that's a planned feature. It already has the ability to import Darkloader savegames.
