After the utter BS article about X-Men Destiny's development that they published, I take Kotaku's "investigative journalism" pieces with a grain of salt.

Ironic that you don't actually provide sources to that claim.

The podcast's up. (

Nothing more to add about Prey 2. I'm sure Arkane along with a giant cash injection from Bethesda will make a great game, but since they were pitching it as a new IP, it'll have nothing in common with Human Head's version.
Funny to think that the sequel is turning out to be a bigger disaster than the first game. It'll be over a decade since the original shipped by the time Arkane's game sees the light of day. I have a feeling that Bethesda will continue to mismanage Prey 2 both internally and externally. It's sad to look back and see how excited DigitalNightfall was for this game :(

And just to show how the universe trades in irony sometimes, Digi works at Arkane now.

http://i.imgur.com/yZNjBIZ.jpgDenis Dyack and SK had every opportunity to give their side of the story well before that article went to print. (
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=559662) Instead DD waited 'til he was begging for money on Kickstarter before he spent half an hour talking about how Kotaku dun 'im wrong.
Kotaku article or not, SK, and whatever DD is doing now that's essentially SK2, is undeserving of anyone's money. Horribly mismanaged, cancelled games littering its wake, and a long history of mediocre games, run by an egomaniac who nobody had the balls to take his keyboard away from. The one game they worked on that was worth two halves of a damn was Twin Snakes, and that was in collaboration with Konami so it doesn't really count. Any project with Dyack connected to it is tainted, and (
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=503761) Dyack has only himself to blame.

http://iforce.co.nz/i/uyq531cp.yyw.jpgThe difference between SK and Precursor Games is that Dyack has nothing to do with the business side of things, nor is he a founder. CEO/Founder Paul Caporicci and CCO Shawn Jackson call all of the shots at that end. Dyack is solely involved in creative stuff.
Also Dyack was pressured into doing the "Kotaku article response" vlog by the two aforementioned gentlemen.
At the end of the day Twin Snakes will largely be forgotten about meanwhile Eternal Darkness will continue to appear critics' "best games of all time" lists for the indefinite future. Also Uncharted's legacy owes much to the Legacy of Kain franchise.

Were you trying to enrage me with the Twin Snakes comment? Aside from it not even being true (Metal Gear Solid is a massively popular franchise) it doesn't matter if it is forgotten or not. And Eternal Darkness being on some critics' "best games of all time" lists is meaningless in an internet full of asinine, subjective lists, especially the ones that also list Earthbound.
Also Uncharted may be popular but I bet the (
http://archiveofourown.org/tags/Uncharted/works) average Uncharted fan not only has never heard of Legacy of Kain but wasn't even
alive when that series was new.
