That would be weird, since Zenimax bought Arkane before Dishonored was even announced.
Dishonored started development in 2008 and Bethesda was publishing Dishonored before they acquired the studio.
I talked to a person who worked on Dishonored who said Zenimax was super supportive after they purchased the studio, though he mentioned it was kind of weird that when Altman arrived in Lyon, he brought an army of lawyers with him. "Uh... why is everyone on their staff lawyers?" or something like that (I'm paraphrasing here). He also told me Raf is a nice, up-front guy and that the team, like Human Head, was very small (50-something in Lyon, 20-something in Austin).
Talking to someone from Arkane at Quakecon 2010: "Hey, it's great you're now part of Bethesda!" was meet with some sheepish reply like ..."well, it's better than starting over." I wish I had paid more attention to that conversation.
Dishonored was suppose to be set in feudal Japan with Samurais. Arkane Lyon said they couldn't realize that setting and decided to set it in Europe instead. They also had more features, but Todd, the exec producer, trimmed back a lot to get things finished. In 2010, Prey 2 was in better shape than Dishonored hence it being announced first. The real reason you never saw the game is that while "Bethesda owns all the rights to the title and for the content developed during their partnership with the original developer. They don't have the source material, so Bethesda can't continue to finish it and the developer can't release it in some other form." Though they tried briefly with Obsidian attempting to reverse engineer the game.
Doom's definitely in trouble. It was formerly announced in 2008, and rebooted at least once in late 2011. Eva's right that the entire engine team jumped ship to Occulus earlier this year to protest id's appalling management. The multiplayer portion of the game has been farmed out to an external studio, and they hired a new art director last year. Who knows what will happen to that game? (

Do you actually have any source for all that info or are those just rumours? For instance the 'DOOM MP is being done by another studio' was brought up by a random guy on YT with nothing to back it up. Not to mention Linkedin still lists a number of id employees working on DOOM MP. Everyone claims to have an 'insider info' these days.

You are so invested in this, based on information that is tenuous at best.

I know it comes across that way but there's stuff that I can't share that convinced me.
But it really is time for me to ease off about a 100% when it comes to Prey 2 since I'm clearly annoying people. It'll be interesting to see what Arkane's game looks like when it's finally unveiled.

I've heard things that I cannot share at this moment in time that confirm at least to me that certain people have said certain things in certain circumstances that have lead me to believe that I know that I know that I know but that I don't know not what you think I know but don't.

Yeah, that's what I've heard.
Renzatic on 9/6/2014 at 22:30
So you know that I know what you know that I know too?
