I decided not to dig it more and just will use clean thief install for this mission. Dunno what's wrong with it. Nothing about sound helped me.

Completed this mission. A very good thing, I must say. I love FM's that works close to the original game and don't have a lot of superficial things in it.
But I reeeeeally disliked health bar. At first, I thought it's like a watermark, but when I replenished my health, I understood that it's just a number of FM logos. I can hardly understand this move, looks very cheap and silly.
I also can't approve the idea of prising new mantle in this fm. While in other its just an optional thing that will make your life slightly easier, in this fm its mandatory. You just CANT get up to the balcony without it in the end.
As I understood there no bank mission, no sequel. Will it be? And if not, is there any reason published?
Thx

I think Timon is retired is the main reason. We never got an English translation of this one although it was in the works for years, so sadly, I doubt we'll get any more missions from him.

Can somebody help me? I'm in Bookshop and I talked with ghost. She wants me to burn manuscript. Unfortunately there is no fire in fireplace and I don't have any matches. I tried using flares, but it didn't work.
Edit: Nevermind, I needed to drop manuscript, not use it.
But still I would like to know what's with key found in the basement. And also there are 3 wheels on street near Albrecht workshop that I have no idea what they are for.

You mean the key found in a cellar, in
some bookcase, cupboard or wardrobe? That one most likely is of no use. I did not find anything which it opens, and in a Polish Thief forum, there was a post saying that there is one completely useless key in the mission. Most likely, it's the one we're talking about here.

I think you are referring to three wheels or valves on some pipes, which are behind a grate with a lock next to it. If that is the case: The
wheel number three most likely needs to be turned in order to use some machinery in Albrecht's workshop.

As for key it was in a web and I thought it is for last secret I never found. Too bad to hear it is probably useless. As for wheels - I found them after using machinery from workshop.
I really liked this mission. I really liked interaction with items, Garrett's comments. That's not something you see in any FM. That was awesome.

Still waiting..

I recently emailed Timon and asked if I could release a google translated zip of this mission, but sadly he declined my request, he said he would rather wait until he releases version 2, if he ever manages to do that. Hopefully he'll get around to releasing a new version, it's a really great mission stuffed to the brim with not only a lot of very clever ideas but an endless amount fun and good jokes..

I just don't see the need to wait, if someone is willing to take the time to do it. I mean, we're talking going on 10 years here...
I messed around with it for about an hour, and surprisingly like about 99.4% of the mission readables are easily parsed by Google Translate, with the rare manuscript saying something like "..in the local townspeople.." instead of "..by the local townspeople..", where the meaning was clearly for the second version. {Just an example, not an actual text.} Nothing major stood out where something was just garbled; every time, the meaning was pretty clear. Granted, I only messed around with probably 15% of the readables, but they were the big ones like the mission goals, the opening "conversation" that's basically an onscreen display of books for an intro.
There are SOOO many readables though, several hundred, but most are pretty short texts overall. The main problem I think will be getting all the object names and signs translated... Maybe it's a bigger problem than I thought initially.
But yeah, if Timon says "No", then I can respect that. But, it won't stop me from doing my own translation of it when i want to get around to playing it. I just won't be releasing it.

I also couldn't wait for a german translation when I found this mission years ago, so I first made a very rough translation with an automated translator, then started a longer refinement process by editing, correcting and improving the rough thing with my own brain. After several "refinement passes" the revised translated texts made sense. Only one fairy tale (?) was problematic because the automated translation was not very good in this case. And it had to fit something in the mission as well, for the tale was meant to be a hint for a puzzle in the mission as well. Anyway, the results of this patiently wait in a dark corner of my backup hard disks for the day when they might see the light...
Also, I have seen a russian translation, on Darkfate.org, I guess. Thus, the mission could have support for Polish, English, German and Russian, if an agreement with Timon would be made. Otherwise...-shrug-
