Hey, I can understand his pain. When Redneck Rampage came out back in the day, it really pissed me and my cousin off.
We blew off all the pent up rage by shooting up trailers with paintball guns then did hot sex for like a long time in a barn.

Isn't the Prince of Persia film being directed by Mike Newell? This guy has actually made some good films, 'Donnie Brasco' and 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' are two I have seen but he also made 'Enchanted April' and 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' which are apparently both very good too. While, yes, he has made shite films too, like 'Mona Lisa Smile', he is easily the best director, to my knowledge, to be attached to video game to film project. So maybe there is some hope for this one?

Movies of games are never good.
Him being on board really makes no difference imho. He's from another era.
An era when gameplay was more important than getting another crappy story by another crappy writer who couldn't make it in a real industry?

Holy shit, (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473075/) you're right! :D Mechner has writing credits for "original screenplay". The guy who wrote "The Day After Tomorrow" is adapting it. :erg:

A couple of folks 'round here [didn't entirely dislike Hitman], but they're admittedly easily swayed by popcorn flicks with tons of guns 'n explosions.
*raises hand*I watched it twice. It
is mindnumbingly stupid at times, yet it does have...
something that I can't quite put my finger on that makes it worth watching. Timothy Olyphant is pretty good in it. And some of the scenes are really nicely shot. There is this one scene in particular, where 47 walks into euro-trash arms-dealer Belicoff's cocaine-party to buy some guns while "DVNO" by Justice plays in the background. That scene is about as perfect as you could ever ask for in a Hitman-movie. Sadly, there aren't many scenes like that in it.

Four weddings and a funeral are like five of the same thing.

How long have you been waiting for a chance to make that joke?

10 years, by my estimate.

Here's a comment I put on the Amiga version of it long time ago:
(
http://www.lemonamiga.com/?game_id=865)
"I've always had mixed feeling towards Prince of Persia. Being a Persian myself, I never liked the fact that the game title had Persia in it and presented it so in-accurately. The first thing I loathed about it was the army-soup-thin-totally-stereotyped plot. The names chosen were not Persian, Jaffar for example. In Persia (now Iran) the kings were called "Shah", not "Sultan". None of the characters looked Persian either, not the main guy nor the princess or the 'Mullah's you have to fight. It seemed they created a game about Persia but totally based it on Arab culture. It was obvious that Mr.Mechner did not do his research prior to making this game."
As a German American, I was greatly offended in Wolfenstein's portrayal of Germany as a country containing zombies and mummies.
