Should I laugh or cringe?
Please laugh. Now that I see what I've written, I'm cringing, and it's enough if there's one of us doing that.

Yes, well, more things could afford to rip off Okami now and then.
Should I be buying the Wii version of this?

I don't actually even own the game, nor have I played it. I just think it's a wonderful piece of art.

Yes, buy it NOW.
It's a truly great game, captivating and charming.
It isn't exactly original in the gameplay department (it's basically a Zelda clone), but it's stunningly beautiful and has oodles of character.

Ahem. So the (
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/934/934108p1.html) first review's out from IGN.
Ignoring the rampant hyperbole, some facts that stand out:
* It looks gorgeous.
* There's no connection to the SoT trilogy (or any other PoP game, for that matter) whatsoever. Barring one, that is - Farah. That's the name of the Prince's donkey.
* Which he loses right at the start.
* Replacing the donkey and SoT's time twisting mechanics is... Elika. She's the new, magical combo driving/upgrade touting/exposition spouting/Casual-not-hardcore gameplay system.
* Notice, I said Casual. With a capital C. Which means, children, that you will not die whilst playing this game.
Ever. Yes.
Elika will always be at hand to save her Princey-poo, be it death from above, below, or corrupting demon spike up his illustratively shaded ass.
* I think my brain just exploded, because there's this steamy grey mush dribbling out from my ears.
Oh well. At least it's gorgeous.
GORGEOUS, I tell you!!!
i think ill wait for the demo

So ... just like sands of time huh?

I'm sure like Sands of Time, you'll only have so many screw ups before you run out of sand/she just let you fall. Probably while yelling "you're a clumsy clutz and ain't worth the effort" a split second before you hit the spikes with circular saws coming out of them.
Even if it is super easy and you never die once, I'll still buy it simply because it's the best looking game this generation based on the strength of its art direction, rather than yet more Shiny Shaders n' Shit.

Stuart Chatwood and Inon Zur also did the score. Their work on the SoT trilogy was fucking awesome.
