The reason for the rule is that we once had a scan of a current issue of a magazine and got into trouble for it. The editor of the publication was a complete bastard, but the disc editor was a nice friendly chap.
So now we have a blanket rule on magazine scans, although I would have no problem with you posting scans of the Thief reviews. :)

I will post Finnish Pelit magazine TDP review once I get it scanned :).
One thing I find amusing is how those old promo screens are used in reviews. Can't they take screenshots while playing the game :p?

Although, I do understand the editor's argument that if people see reviews for free, people might then not buy the magazine, which I'm happy to abide by.
I agree, but magazines with reviews/previews of the thief series are generally old and cannot be bought anymore today, so what's the matter ? Are these articles condamned to "disappear" somewhere ? ;)
So personally I don't find this rule ambiguous, it has to be applied with recent magazines we can buy, and with older magazines it should go fine. Maybe some kind of a "time limit" should be added to the rule.
(Ps : that's only MY point of view :) )

what mission(s) are the top three thumbnails on the second page of the T-DP review? I don't remember them.

I think they are from Assassin, from the streets before ramirez' mansion. At least I'm sure about the second image, I can't locate the first and third.
