In my mission I'm using Shadowspawn's motiondb.bin in order to use one of the dancing motions, however I have noticed a bug in the motions for the guards. When any guard with a sword attacks me every now and then the guard changes to the default crucifix pose and then continues with other motions. It may be that the guard is choosing a motion that is not in the motiondb.bin file. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've haven't had this problem yet. Have you updated you motions folder? There might be a few motion files that are missing.

That was it Gort. I had copied only the motiondb.bin file to my Thief2 folder. Now I see motions that were not there before. :)
