did give it a try with my fan mission dir for thief.. did start up haplo's latest mission.. (the one I couldn't play because of the nvscript message... )
it now allso works \0/
so what ever happend did allso take care of my other thief installs/copies of nvscript...
so I won't be able to reproduce the problem..... otherwise I would gladly volunteer as a guinea pig...:D
good thing is I finaly can play haplo's mission :cheeky:

Well, NV, if you'd prefer to just fling it at me unsorted in an email, I wouldn't mind. But 'tis up to you, of course.

I hope it was worth all this trouble!

I finally got around to testing this myself, in a virtual machine running Windows 7 x86. As a test, I tried The Temple of the Tides, since it relies heavily on NVScript... and it seemed to work fine.
If the problem was appearing, none of my scripts should work, right?
Not sure what else to try now.

Did you try in a Win7 x64 VM?
Nameless Voice on 10/11/2010 at 10:22
No, I tried it in a Win7 x64 real computer. :D
Edit: I might see about installing all the latest updates on the virtual Win7x86, though.

when I had "the problem" nv scripts was not doing anything..
a dump of the script modules loaded showed nvscript.
but it def. was not working. not in thief and not in dromed.
dropping the script and trying to reload gave the "fail to load script module" message
can tell if it started after a windows update... windows updates allmost every day :p
and I only discoverd it after getting the fence and the scroll in haplo's mission.
as I did mention... after running unlocker it never showed up again.
both on my laptop as on my desktop, both running w7/64

I tried again after running Windows Update on the virtual machine, yet the custom scripting in The Temple of the Tides still works. Hmm.
Come on now, you guys just made up the x86 compatibility issues to freak me out, didn't you? ;)

I've tried to get the error back on my machine by enabling the fix on Thief2.exe in the Compatibility Administrator tool, but even after a reboot there's no problem.
