not necessarily - I think I know what is going on. I bet those sold out morons have altered the install in some dumb way, breaking TFix's T1 detection. that means TFix will detect your Thief install as neutral, and not install any TG specific files (which is good), and no T1 specific files as well (which is bad). check your T1 folder for a tgpatch folder, I bet it's missing. to correct this, create a txt file in your T1 folder, rename it to miss1.dif, and repatch with TFix, that should install the tgpatch folder, and make the FM work. next version of TFix will have foolproof T1 detection.

Thank you voodoo47, finally we have an explanation that fits the facts, and a (temporary) solution that works.
I did what you suggested, created the miss1.dif file in the Thief directory, reran TFix, and it created the tgpatch folder that was not there previously. I reinstalled In The Loom Of Doom and checked the cells where the AI had previously been deformed. They are all normal now.
It would seem that the problem resides in the way the Sold Out version of T1 interacts with the current version of TFix.
If vincentlancon is still reading this thread, it would be good if he could confirm whether his T1 is the Sold Out version.
And no false memories!

running your default T1 install under oldDark would have definitely resulted in the same problem, unless you have used the original standalone T1->TG FM patch (which is integrated into TFix now, but was not installed because of the failed detection). not remembering that is your false memory right there.

Pre New Dark I used the TG patch for T1. There is no false memory involved.

you kind of forgot to mention that. I would have realized what was wrong right away. anyway, doesn't matter, problem solved and steps to prevent it in the future taken, so all is good.

I made clear that the problems playing T1/TG missions arose after New Dark not before. I did not forget (or even kind of forget) to mention that prior to New Dark I used the TG patch. I simply was not asked. Instead of being asked further questions, I was told that I might be misremembering that things used to work well. :nono:

Thanks...but yeah. I have the original thief 1 when it came out all those years ago

then use TFix and play happily ever after. do use the official patch first.
