Resurrecting this thread a bit - I hadn't tried T2X since NewDark came out. Here's how I got everything to work with Darkloader:
1) Go to any Thief 2 install directory where you previously installed T2X (it doesn't have to have the NewDark patch, or any other mods or fixes).
2) Open up the T2X folder within the T2 install directory.
3) Zip up the contents of this folder, just like any other FM, keeping all the directories intact (I called mine t2x.zip).
4) Move t2x.zip into whatever folder the rest of your FMs are in.
5) Fire it up like any other FM.
I'm guessing this method will work for FM Sel too, as long as t2x.zip is put into the folder you specified for FMs in the FM Sel settings. I didn't test this, however.
I did not have to add the additional folder specified by voodoo47 above for enhanced skies, they seemed to work fine without it. The only irritating thing though with this setup is whenever you install t2x.zip after playing another FM, you need to reset your resolution. But not too big of a deal there though.
Edit: just noticed that Enhanced Water is not working, not sure how to fix that.

Just to confirm, it does work with fmsel as well.

That procedure is good.
But I recommend some cleanup on that ZIP afterwards.
- open the ZIP and delete everything from it that is typically found in the Thief2 main folder, such as all *.cfg files, since that could/should be controlled by Thief2 itself, now that you treat T2X like a FM anyway

Actually, it appears my post above is wrong. I'm not sure exactly why t2skies was working on my last trial run, but when I tried it with a completely fresh T2 install, it didn't work.
In doing a little experimenting, I was able to get t2skies working using the archive provided by voodoo47, but I needed to make a few changes to one of the dml files, which was missing some syntax, and the actual asset files need to be placed in a specific location, which wasn't mentioned. I was able to get t2water working too, although I don't understand why that doesn't work by default if it was installed with Tafferpatcher.
I'll revise my writeup above at some point today to make everything a bit more clear. I'm tempted to add NTEX to the mix too, but I'm not sure how that will affect (or even if it will affect) T2X's appearance. I can say T2X looks really nice with the water and sky additions though.

That's awesome, I completely missed that post, this makes things much easier. What about NTEX, will that work on it's own for T2X if already installed via Tafferpatcher?

I can't follow. So.... this thread refers to the newsky patch for t2x.
And now we have a patch for a patch posted in a different thread.
Now,... where the heck is the 'T2X NewDark patch' Master Thread ?
I am not even sure if t2x_fix_1a.7z is still the latest version.
All the effort put into it is highly appreciated, but how on earth is one supposed to find such randomly posted stuff?

the current package is a mess, with one dml and one mission broken - it was hastily put together for Fen's LP of T2x. I was sort of planning to fix everything and compile it into a new package, but did not get around to do it just yet.

can you tell me which one was it? looks like I don't remember anymore.

Here's what I did, to create my own personal T2X FM pack. I added the following to my T2X directory:
Voodoo47's
t2x_fix_1a.7z file from the other thread, unzipped it into the T2X directory (this covers t2skies, t2water, the EP, and the 32 bit lit version of the missions).
Added the miss30 fix, also from the other thread (
miss30.7z).
Downloaded the newer
EP2.crf, renamed it
EP.crf and copied/overwrote it to the T2X dir.
Copied/overwrote the /fam and /obj folders from NTEX into the T2X dir.*
Added ZylonBane's Blackjack replacement (for the hammer, personal preference of mine).
Then I removed all the cfgs and zipped up that entire directory as an FM (t2x.zip).
*Edit: OK, added NTEX, bringing t2x.zip to a whopping 1 GB. Not something I'd wanna distribute, but it's gonna make a for an awesome T2X replay.

It was miss19.mis.dml. There weren't any // before the comments, and the word "Texture" didn't have quotes around it. But the version in
t2x_fix_1a.7z works, so all should be good.

ok, fixed both files and (
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7quQTgSRc9KRjd6V1FGY2M0NHM/edit) reuploaded. making sure there are no broken files in the package is the least I can do (also updated the small dml package, so the bad version of miss19.mis.dml should not be floating anywhere).
//also, added the link to the beta package into the TFix topic, so it won't get lost so easily.
