the game defentitely isn't insanely hard. there was only one "bossfight" that had me cursing and this only because of its length, not its difficulty. I played it on medium. I'm sure "hard" will force you to grind many xp for better powers early on. and it IS fun. but that's about it. consumed in chunks of 2 hours it is very satisfying. but after that time the repeating/repetetive sidemissions get boring, the main missions are only variations of the same mission and the character is pretty stupid with no real reflections on the events happening and and the rather uninteresting "web of intrigue" that sounds complicated but is as cliche and predictable as ever......military doing tests on unsuspecting civilians and soliders......but it serves the story although the "hero's" motiviations are still unclear and his action unjustified (i killed more civilians than military)
but the story is filler and the gameplay is king. overpowerment in every sense with enough enemies thrown in to pose at least a minimal challenge.
some missions it's easier to do in helis or tanks, some are better done with devastators or airstrikes but I found out that there is always a "easy" or "less chaotic" version for a few missions (especially airstrike)
i will surely replay it on hard to see how my skills hold up :=)

Henke, did you experience a lower than usual volume level on the console version? Ta.

Nope. Volume is just fine.

That's the one thing I like about the story actually. I'm sure no villain really
sees himself as a villain. And since the story is told from Alex' perspective he's the hero by default, no matter to what lengths he goes to get revenge. :)

Any of you guys played Infamous? Thinking about picking up one of them, can't decide. The Infamous demo is seriously awesome, blowing up things/non-things is immensely fun, but the (what I expect to be) raw mood of Prototype sounds more tempting. I like zombies.

I completed it a few days ago, I find it to be the perfect antidote after some heavy RPG-ing. With a pad.
I started getting the stuttering/chipmunk'd cutscene bug when I got my HS-1200 USB headset - with that unplugged, it works fine. I don't know what QA were thinking, probably HURR PC GAMERS ALL USE ONBOARD SOUND LETS NOT BOTHER or it could be another opportunity to blame Creative Vista drivers. Either way, the game is the most fun I have seen in years. The cruelty potential of Postal 2, the flowing movement of Assassin's Creed, the thrill of urban exploration from (strangely) MxO and combat like... um... Oni? Yeah terrible guns, that works.
Me playing it at a LAN party WITH the stuttering persuaded 6 people to get it right there.

Fragony, I've played both Prototype and inFamous, and while inFamous is a great game, Prototype just edges it in my opinion, but I have friends who think the opposite.

How is that plague thing and anarchy handled? The cutscenes look rather sinister, but it could be just another day in town from the looks of it, didn't get the feeling something horrible happened. It's incredibly fun but I like a bit of nasty.
edit: I mean in Infamous

I found myself, as the game progressed, wanting to play as a soldier caught amidst the chaos. Imagine if you were one of those Blackwatch guys fighting thousands of those zombie things, hunters, Alex, the hydras...and you could call in airstrikes, strike teams, etc.
It'd be a completely different game, but just something I've been thinking about the more I play.
