Ah ha ha. MS has reduced the Xbox 360 Elite to £299, same price as a PS3 Slim.
Thats the same price, same HD size, but without BluRay, wifi and free online connectivity.
I see that XBox360 gets Netflix over in the US. Its not going to affect anywhere else then, but even if (like Kotaku suggests) Netflix is a draw for MS isn't that a bit silly considering you can get Netflix for PS3 if through PlayOn?

You're right in that it's a better deal from a hardware standpoint. But people, buy and large, buy these things for the games, and I get the impression that most folks prefer the 360's offerings in that department.
But I guess we'll find out!

300 euro for a PS3 slim really is a steal. Greatlooking machine, I am a sucker for design and it shall be mine, gonna make my little nephew happy with my current one.

I assume you mean
$299, as the Elite is
£219, £30 cheaper than the Slim.

Most gamers that I know (who aren't fanboyist dumb fucks) IRL who can't justify more than one system would buy their consoles based on:-
* A. the selection of games (i.e. based on the genres that they play, favourite franchises, etc.).
* B. What all of their friends have - for lending games, netplay, LAN'ing, etc.
Anything else is just a bonus for these people really. Blu-ray movie playback and media hub facilities (the 360 does the latter just as well, BTW) aren't really concerns.

Yeah, particularly when in Canada it is between 314 and 345$CDN (with taxes) depending on the province (that's between 203 and 222 euro).

How old are you?

What relevance does my age have with anything?
This may surprise you, but a lot of people actually buy game consoles to, are ready for this.... just play games. Shocking revelation, I know.

Great. Now everyone's gonna know that my gravatar looks like an inebriated cacodemon rescued from drowning in a vat of grape wine. Thanks a ton, Aja!
LOL IT DOES!!!!!
Also, fragony has one a bit similar to mine.

Age does change priority and interest in life. Most people my age I know who bought (or are thinking about buying) a PS3, chose that console because it can be used as a Blu-ray player. I guess an interesting statistic would be the age of PS3 buyers.
