Agreed. Some of the games I tried just recently are now in my top favourites list amongst best games I've
ever played. Like God of War 1/2, or Ico, or Shadow of the Colossus, or MGS3, or even Fatal Frame series.

Yea no doubt. Anyone who completely ignores any game platform due to elitist bullshit is missing out. But I'm not so sure I'm missing out with 360 or PS3. It really depends on what you're into and whether or not a lot of those games get ported over to a system you do have. I don't feel like I'm missing anything by not playing Halo3 or some of the PS3 exclusives and I know for sure that I'd rather play the ported games on my PC because there are mods and vastly superior speed (and even more speed in the future).
I'm currently waiting on RE5 PC. I'm still not sure how much I want to play it though as I've read so many negative opinions of it. Is that worth owning?

I haven't played it, but from what I understand RE5 received a lot of unwarranted flank because a lot people were expecting a significant evolution of the RE4 formula (i.e. take a lot of the ideas added subsequently to the 3PS genre, such as those from Gears of War).
I don't know where they got the idea that it would more than RE4 with a graphical upgrade. Aside from the co-op stuff, virtually all of the videos showed were an accurate depiction of what the game was.

If you just barely liked RE4, it's still worth it I think; and if you loved RE4, then RE5 is a must-play. And about 'lots of negative opinions' I don't know, but it got 80+ from reviewers AND players in every game medium I check. I'm waiting for it myself.

Welcome to Capcom. People seem to forget that Capcom have made the Expansion Pack Sequel famous.
