Does the PS3 have any good co-op games? Not versus stuff, but co-op rpgs or adventure type things? I'm sooo out of the loop re: console games it's untrue. I'd never heard of Valkyria Chronicles but it looks good.

But really, how many exclusives for Xbox 360 can you name? I have a 360, and I got it for Halo and Gears. There are other nice bonuses, like Left 4 Dead and Orange Box, but for the most part my interest is in the multiplatform games and the 360 was simply cheaper (I also can't stand PS3 controllers).
Viva Pinata games have been a buttload of fun, will definately get Fable 2, obviously halo is pretty ordinary, but I love gears, geometry wars is ridiculous fun, whilst I appreciate that everyone loves GT, forza 2 has been a lot of fun, and forza 3 should be out before the next GT. Bioshock did come out for 360 well before PS3 as well, to be fair.

What did you think of Gears 2? I'm still iffy on it. Obviously the singleplayer was awesome, but I still can't get into the multiplayer like I did with the first game.
Halo 3 has a decent singleplayer and a decent online, but IMO where it excels is in the custom games. There's no game I'd rather have when I get three friends over (with the exception of maybe Rock Band). The online playlists give you the standard (aka boring) weapons, but trying out random combinations in multiplayer like shotgun-swords or boomshot-magnum is great fun.
The games that I play the most are Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, and Rock Band; all of which are multiplatform.

I really like Gears both single and multiplayer, but the halo single player was very dissapointing I reckon. There was very little variation in the game, and it got very boring towards the end where it was just the same enemies, except one million more of them. The final missions were a complete grind. Also, there really wasn't much new introduced in this game, it's the same as I felt in Halo2, we've already beaten the flood (twice now), I'm not sure why it is interesting to do it all over again. Yeah some of the levels looked cool, but I think the actual game mechanics felt tired at this point.

Little Big Planet is all about co-op; you can play with up to four players either online, offline or a mix. Offline you can even edit levels together ;)
A few of the downloadable games are co-op enabled, like Bionic Commando Re-armed (also on Xbox, but with a worse D-pad), and PixelJunk Eden (which is honestly pretty boring singleplayer).

Wait, I can play LBP multiplayer offline?? :o How did I miss that?
I had a good time with Pixel Junk Monsters co-op and I've heard good things about Resistance 2's co-op, but I've yet to try that.

Best post ITT.
Oh, and N64 games went for $40-70. Which I guess could be $100 in some alternate reality. Considering that every brand new game for the 360/PS3 is going for $60-65 that doesn't seem like a big deal.
Ok, things generally tend to cost more in Europe, maybe I should have been more specific but when I said $100 dollars I was converting it for the non Euro's to what it
roughly would be since I'm not a walking exchange rate. Not that uncommon a thing to do either.
£50 sterling would have been roughly $100 American before the crash, since then it has taken quite a big hit. In a previous post I linked a site where you can check past rates.
I was merely drawing attention to the point that 4 games would equal the cost of the machine. And it was between £50-60 per game which was very expensive back then. New releases on consoles would rarely go above 40.
Alot of people tend to feel that we end up paying a higher amount because Americans get it all cheaper.

To be fair I'm pretty sure DaBeast is an Aussie, in which his figures sure are right, in $AU. N64 games even went up to like $110 at some points, 360 games are about the $100 dollar mark new, about $60 once they have been out for a little while. That's why Yahtzee is always complaining that Aussies get buttfucked by prices.
Sorry lad, I'm Irish. And I'm well aware that you guys get shafted that bit harder than us.
One more note on PC games being cheap. Wasn't there a general opinion that the games cost less because there was so much choice that competition brought the prices down? Maybe among other things?

More 360 exclusives: the latest sequels to Ace Combat and We Love Katamari. Banjo Kazooie 3, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Then there's multi-platform titles with exclusive DLC: GTA4, Tomb Raider Underworld, Fallout 3.
CCCToad on 17/12/2008 at 02:48
Thing is, that having few exclusives works against the PS3.
When the same game you want is available on both systems, why play it on the 400 dollar system when you can also play it on the 200 dollar system?

I missed it at first too; the manual doesn't even mention it! The "trick" to offline multiplayer is... to turn on another controller. Another Sackperson will immediately appear in the game.
