£199 and I'd consider picking one up, but the cheapest one is getting on for twice that of the mid-range 360, which is just plain stupid.
I find it odd that people say this when the PS3 has built in wifi, a BluRay player and free use of PSN - all things that I believe you have to pay for on the 360. I don't know about the technical specs of the 360 but the PS3 can also be used to stream media from your PC, wirelessly, to play on your big screen tv.
I know I'm just that sort of gamer but I don't see a lot coming out for 360 that I want to play, that isn't on PS3 or PC. And on PC there tend to be mods and free DLC. For a gaming group that play seriously on PC and thus have good spec PCs I can't see the sense in the 360 except for the desirable exclusives - which are few and far between for me. Is it really worth getting in inferior console just for those few games?

All things that you maybe don't really
need in a video game console?

I dunno I kinda need wifi and PSN to play online. Blu-ray is convenient much more storage. Don't know if it is true Sony likes to boast, but I heard that MSG4 on a xbox360 would at least need 4 disks. No disk swapping > disk swapping

To that the answer is No, in my opinion, for the reasons you pointed out. But I think the question here, especially on TTLG, is "Is it really worth getting a 300£ console as a
second gaming system?" As a dedicated PC gamer, most of the technical goodies of the PS3 could barely pick my curiosity, and the interesting exclusives, while probably more numerous between this console and the PC than between the 360 and the PC, are still not in sturdy supply. The 360's definitely not on my radar but the PS3 could stand a chance at tempting me if it came with a lower price tag. Now, however, unless you've got a good sack of money you could otherwise throw over a bridge, it's hard to justify the costs when you've already invested a fair bit in an up-to-date PC, a platform which is clearly going to remain your main for the foreseeable future anyway.

(~200) != 200 ;)

I certainly can't justify it as a third gaming system at the moment, anyway.

I find it really amusing that console gamers are masturbating over what LBP brings to their table - the revelation of user created content. Welcome to an era of PC gaming, circa 10+ years ago. Oh yeah, except this modding renaissance is directly moderated by corporate legal departments.

That was awesome.
