If the rumours are true the developers are all getting pink-slipped as soon as it's safely shipped, since LA is supposedly shutting down all its internal development, again. Though I've seen it denied by the LA PR guy on QT3

I love the older films as much as the next guy, but I'm not a big enough Star Wars fan to get over the games shortcomings.
Most of the hardcore Star Wars fans I've seen discussing it aren't impressed at all, though probably for different reasons.

On a semi-related note, I felt something after I saw a trailer for The Clone Wars cartoon recently and footage of this new game too, then catching The Empire Strikes Back on TV the other night cemented it: I felt nothing.
I literally have no love for Star Wars anymore, it has no place in my heart. The universe has been so thoroughly plundered, the original saga reduced in scope to fan-fiction-esque continuity and the prequels so horribly mishandled that I honestly don't even enjoy the originals anymore.
There's still charm to be found in certain sequences and a simple-minded joy to some of it, but I watched the asteroid sequence in Empire and never once got a thrill out of it, it was very disconcerting for me. All my life I would have chalked myself very squarely as a Star Wars fan but now I honestly don't give a shit.

I'm not quite so extreme, but fairly close. I have found myself actively trying to avoid things Lucas is associated with because I just know he'll have some 'great idea' which is really just awful.

Indeed, I would say I'm in this category as well. I pretty much ran away screaming from Indy 4 after seeing a crate with the date of the Roswell crash in the teaser trailer.

Is that actually the reason or could it just be that you're not a kid anymore? I haven't been immersed in Star Wars since I was 14, and rewatching the trilogy last month I found myself more impatient than nostalgic.
indy still holds up wonderfully over time though ;)

Nope because Indy, Back to the Future, a slew of action movies, Gremlins 1/2, Motherfuckin JAWS and a whole host of other movies that I grew up on still hold massive appeal. I think it's because the mythos has been so thoroughly gutted and burnt out by Lucas that I know there's no real magic or mystery behind anything anymore.

I'm pretty sure that they're developing a Indiana Jones game in-house, built on the same FU engine, for the HD consoles.

I watched the original trilogy about 10 years ago for the first time.
It was fun.
I haven't watched it since nor do I give a shit. Never really understood the insane fandom around it. I know people who won't read a book if it doesn't have a Wookie in it. It's irritating.

I just wanted to say exactly what Scots said, except it was Star Wars that I saw.

I watched them all again (the originals) for the first time in aaayges when the special editions came out a few years back. There was a lot of nostalgic charm still going on, but I generally found I agreed with much of geekdom that Empire holds up all by itself. The only comparison that springs to mind is The Hobbit to Lord of the Rings. It's not at that level but there's a pleasing maturation from the first film, which then kinda plateaus or sinks (depending on who you talk to) at Jedi and then its downhill all the way frm there.
