The earlier Jedi Knight games made me feel like a badass Jedi Master. This one just makes me feel like a bumbling idiot with a lightsaber.
Still, it's not completely worthless, just not up there with the JK series. Like others have said, it might be worth picking out of the bargain bin.
My thoughts exactly. There is sure to be some fun to be had with the over the top force powers, but I'll wait until the price drops and I have nothing else to play.

I literally have no love for Star Wars anymore, it has no place in my heart. The universe has been so thoroughly plundered, the original saga reduced in scope to fan-fiction-esque continuity and the prequels so horribly mishandled that I honestly don't even enjoy the originals anymore.
...All my life I would have chalked myself very squarely as a Star Wars fan but now I honestly don't give a shit.
Word to this. Much the same sentiment as (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1087508#post1087508) I had back in 2004.
The one recent exception to my apathy has been Star Wars Lego II, which was just so damn charming I couldn't resist, but I think that was more the reinterpretation of a story I know so well through the cheeky medium of Lego than the franchise itself.
Still, as the demo is available on 360 too I've queued the download out of morbid curiosity.

Really? It reminded you of those other LucasArts-developed third-person Star Wars actiongames that focus on lightsaber-combat and forcepowers?
Well I do tend to dislike third-person in general, but in the
Jedi Knight series (and especially Outcast/Academy) it is the only way to properly play with the force. I always played FPS until I got the lightsaber. And it was clunky getting it right with a keyboard at first, I suppose once you're used to the controls in console, it will be just as easy.
And yes, as far as the force effects are concerned, it did remind me of the JK series. Obviously, I'm not comparing the story of a 30 minute demo to that of three full-blown games (I never played the original
Dark Forces)
