PSP2 is here. PS Phone any day now. - by SubJeff

I personally am hoping something like (
http://kotaku.com/5504123/ps3-loses-linux-support) this happens again.
On a side note, my new television stopped displaying red. Turns out that particular color has been shown to instill rage in viewers, and the manufacturer remotely disabled the red pixels to help prevent this. I guess I can snap the antenna off my TV, thereby not receiving the "optional" update to disable red, but then I won't be able to watch any new shows either. Heh who am I kidding? This TV never belonged to me in the first place. I just paid for it.

Eldron - it's never going to have the same power as a PS3 but given the screen size and pixel density (544p on a 5" screen!) and the grunt it has under the hood I can imagine it running things that look pretty much like a PS3s graphics even at close range.
lost_soul - I think I'm finally understanding why people in that other thread are giving you grief. Your statement here makes no sense at all. First off; it looks like you're hoping for some event that upsets consumers, and secondly in the context of the PSP2 that just makes no sense. Are actually a annoy-bot or just weird?
RE: Your tv. Sounds like you need telling what to do anyway.

I was comparing the post-sale removal of functionality from the PS3 to the TV. When you buy a TV, you pay for all the different colored pixels, especially if the vendor advertises it as being color. If the vendor then pushes down an update that disables red, that (in my book) is no different than theft.
Now back on the Sony topic... Yes, I hope something like the above does happen again. It isn't because I'm evil. It is because I value the ability to control things I buy. I don't trust anyone with the ability to reach inside and remove features post-sale. Hopefully next time, Sony will remove the ability to play movies or MP3s. Eventually the consumer will learn when a feature he actually cared about when he bought the product is taken away.

It doesn't work that way, either it has the same power or it doesn't, there's no "if you squint your eyes it looks like ps3 quality" measurement.
And judging from the videos from the uncharted, made by possibly the technically best studio on the ps3, it looks quite good on the psp2, but it definitely isn't near the ps3 in technical quality.

I just watched the Uncharted PSP2 demo. It's impressive, but like Eldron said, isn't quite up to PS3 quality. I'd say it looks a goodly bit better than Metal Gear Solid 3 on the 3DS, which puts it somewhere in like Playstation 2 and a half territory. Not quite up there, but only a half step behind.
If it's got a couple of good launch titles, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I might pick one up soon after release after all.

Well clearly it doesn't have the power of the PS3, that'd be some crazy tech step forwards.
I'm not saying squint your eyes and I'd appreciate it if you didn't throw in idiotic strawmen like that. The point is, and this is clear if you read the devs experiences with porting PS3 games over to the PSP2, you can get a reasonable equivalent on the PSP2. It will not look
exactly like the PS3 but think of it like a slimmed down version of the game in the same way as the God of War collection is a fattened up version of PS2 games - the game is identical in all but graphics. The point is you could continue your game on the PSP2 or PS3 and share saves.
Renz - have you got a link to that video? The only ones I've seen (of Uncharted) are the videos of someone playing it. Is there a version that's recorded straight to vid of the machine?

I probably saw the same thing you did. No direct feed from the machine, just a video of a video of a guy playing the game. It's good enough to tell the PSP2 is capable of producing some nice graphics, but doesn't shove any high detailed clips right up in your face.
