The "share saves between consoles" is pretty cool but im surprised (or not) that it hasn't been attempted before. Pretty much all cross-platform games have the same save creating/loading mechanism, the difference lies only in the file reading layer. There is no reason why a PS3 save could not be loaded onto a 360, provided the actual data can transferred (and little file-structure details like big vs small endians accounted for).
But then again, we wouldnt want people playing OUR PS3 saves on their DIRTY 360 consoles, now would we?

Looks very tempting.
Among other things I was surprised when they said the thing had a OLED display.

It's not that surprising. OLED screens in that size are relatively cheap and easy to produce. They offer up better color quality, and don't eat the battery up with a power hungry backlight. Hell, they would've been stupid not to put one in.
In fact, I'm wondering why the 3DS doesn't have one. Maybe it has something to do with the 3D screen, and the super odd funky resolution it uses.

I'm actually getting quite interested in this; being an early-adopter of the PSP, even though it fell out of favour when I bought a DS, the news I've been hearing about the Vita has really caught my eye.

(

PSP is such a great system. The homebrew community is currently undergoing a renaissance, with multiple custom firmware projects in existence and the recent software development competition run by the developer of Wagic: The Homebrew, wolololo.

Holy shit! It has dual sticks AND a touchscreen? Color me interested!

It looks like a nice piece of kit and I'm sure it'll have some good games. But when would I use it? I don't use public transport

http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/others/snob-014.gif enough for mobile gaming (though perhaps on an airplane.... hmmm...) and if I want to play console games then the PS3 is all I need.
The only thing that would make this a viable deal for me would be if it had some really awesome games that use the hardware in a unique and cool fashion. Like the touchscreen controls, the blowing and the
closing the lid to alter the map bit in Zelda on the DS which were all fabulous.
Or some crazy integration with the PS3 like the WiiU controller in that Aliens game.
Of course I might have to get it just to complete my Sony altar - PS3, BraviaTV, PS3 soundbar, 2 six-axis controllers, 2 move controllers, the supplementary move controller and the move charge station, with a Sony Betamax (yes, Betamofoingmax) player under it.

the blowing [on the DS]
The first time I ever saw a DS I had no idea it had the "blowing" interface.
Was sat opposite two kids on a train, blowing onto their handheld gaming device. I thought they may have been special needs :(

Wow, i read that as 'PS2 is here'. I'm wowing because i recently got myself a new PS2 and going to play all the greatest hits of this platform. The game that is responsible for that is Okami, which i played on emulator, and i never owned any console before :D
