Does ARX have a publisher yet? Only reason I'm asking is the whole wizardry 8 fiasco. For those that don't know, wizardry 8 has been in development for many years and still has yet to sign on a publisher. Now it's questionable whether the game will even be released. I would hate to wait for this game(ARX) only to find out it can't be released because of no publisher. Man, I hope one day that new technology will be released that will allow everyone to download at 100mb/s. Developers could then just put their games right on the net for download. They wouldn't even need a publisher.

When this technology exists, games will probably take 4 or 5 DVDs (or a new and even bigger storage medium).

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/smile.gifThere is no doubt that they'll find an editor. Have you seen many other games that raise such a positive uproar while they are barely started? Usually, only sequels from big compinies do that.
Raf just has to show his editor all the e-mails and forums the announcement of game generated.
I'm confident. It's just a matter of time and there is a good point in not finding an editor too early: you aren't forced to release a beta version as v1.0 (waiting for numerous patches).

If only it were that easy.
"Jane's Attack Squadron", anyone? :(
Literally thousands of people signed that petition, and Electronic Arts still dumped it.
Arx certainly deserves to secure a publisher, and with the recent popularity of RPGs, hopefully they won't have too much difficulty.

You're probably right xman, about the games being too big by the time that technology would come. I just wish there was a way that gamers could get their games directly from the developers. Games would be cheaper, and every cent you spend on it would go to the developers, not the publisher. Yeah Shadowcat, forgot about Attack Squadron. That games' finished and ready to go. But like you said, no publisher, no game.

So you see : we have to let them enough time to find a good publisher, one who will offer the right working conditions (time, main ideas,...)! Wizardy is famous, but not as innovating as Arx (remember Wizardy 1 and 2 on Apple II ?).
I'd like to say : no good publisher, no good game !
