I'm one of those Marry Valve kids and I think Fakefactory's mod is fugly.
The only model updates I use at all ever in the HL2 series is a reskinned zombie (gives it a denim jacket like the citizens) and a replacement MP5 for the ugly MP7.

Yes I know but some people must like it otherwise no one would have heard of it in the first place. Unless it's just some kind of freakshow...

You suck at logic.

You answered your own unanswered question with a question... which is your answer...
Point is, the creator is skilled, but has no taste.

For what it's worth, I do like Cyberblutch's models. I use that alternate skin for the midwife though.

To set the record straight, the Rebirth midwife is based off of the original concept art.
The original
rejected concept art. And really, none of that concept art approaches the "Midwives Gone Wild" absurdity that Cyberblutch came up with.

I agree. The gratuitious gams stuck out like a sore thumb, particularly with the permanently frozen movie-fear face.
Reskin for the win.

I could imagine that there are lots of people who like the Fakefactory NPCs. I simply don't think that they are necessarily the same as the Valve fans (which I'd consider myself to be too). Valve's artwork, by and large, is far more subdued and subtle than Fakefactory's gaudiness - more Chris Nolan, perhaps, than Michael Bay.
