Can't be any worse than the voice acting for the Awakenings HL2 mod. Holy fuck.

Everyone who has fond memories of Unreal 1 should
really play Operation: Na Pali. You'll love it, it's great on all levels except for some substandard voice acting.
The voice acting is bad,but the constant talking to yourself really kills it for me.
They should have used translator hints like in Unreal.
Instead they used talk to yourself voice directions which are totally annoying.
Also the flying vehicle sections could have been better.
The game also broke 5 times for me,so I had to go back and redo maps because a trigger did not work.
The nali and mercenaries that follow you are total boneheads. They get stuck on everything, jump off cliffs, and jump in front of you when you are shooting a rocket, which kills them or you.
It has some great maps and ideas and story to it,but they should have nixed the voice acting, the squad nalis and mercs, and the flying areas.Would have been a much better mod.

As much as I'd like to see another game set in Quake 1's universe, Quake 4 completely stomped the shit out of Quake 2. Q2 was reasonably fun, yes, but Q4 just engaged me much more.
If Quake 4 didn't have vehicles or squads, and had levels that resembled Stroggos just a tiny bit, then I would have greatly enjoyed it.
I mean, the planet is suddenly lava, water and slime-free. What the fuck is up with that?
As for Quake 1, I loved the dungeons and castles full of monsters that still manage to scare the shit out of me. Who would want to see a big, white creature that has a face that is nothing but teeth? And bloody razor sharp claws on each arm? That was back in '96, the shambler can be spiced up quite a bit now that 12 years have passed. :sly:

I long for the day that someone produces a Shambler taking advantage of modern fur rendering techniques, but if done wrong, it could end up looking cuddly.
Furry Fiends would be ace too.

I guess I liked Quake 4 because it was basically a combination of the best parts of Call of Duty and Doom 3. It wasn't quite as fun as CoD can be but it stomped the shit out of Doom 3.

I present thee the (

Quake 2 is a bit like FEAR, in that the environments are dull, but the combat is fun. Obviously the details of those elements are radically different (for instance, Q2 doesn't come within a city block of having FEAR's enemy AI), but nevertheless it was fun to shoot things in Q2, and still has been every time I've played it since. The game cops a lot of flak these days, but I reckon Id did a pretty good job with it.

What's wrong with locating a blue keycard? You just hate videogames.
