I watched one a wile back that used the Q1 engine. It was actually as long as a full-length film. I enjoyed it. They rendered it using the DarkPlaces engine, so it had the better lighting and all. I'll bet somebody could also use the xreal engine, which is a modded version of Q3a. It also has per-pixel lighting, but with support for a much better model format.

You must be referring to the (

I remember there being complaints about its length (it's around 4 hours long if I remember right) but a lot of that is simply due to the fact that you can only do so much with the Quake engine; any sort of post-production editing wouldn't have been possible or feasible back then, so we were stuck with endless shots of long walks.

Quite good yes, though it does drag on alittle.
"Ofcourse I know how to read them, I wrote them"
Best bit in that whole movie.
I was always more of a fan of Blahbalicious and Operation Bayshield back in the Quake 1 machinema days. Hilarious movies. Man there were some GREAT Quake 1 movies released back then.
There was one particular one that I cant recall the name of now, which was a zombie invasion movie and dealt with how a guy and his mate go about their day/night during the chaos. Was very well done and quite sad. Definately one of my favorites. I got a whole collection of all my favorites on a cd somewhere.

I think I know the one you're talking about. It's called Psalms.

I always loved the intro to Team Fortress on the original Quake.
