In n64 games though you could normally change the movement to be with the 4 c buttons and the aiming to be with the stick - that worked quite nicely.

If they've done anything to the netcode I think I'll give it a try. My worst experiences with Q3A involved railguns misfiring by full seconds....

Ah Q3, I love it. Don't have the time to put in to reach any decent standard again, but I'll definitely be giving this a whirl. id sharpened deathmatch to a gleaming point with Q3A and there's just nothing out there that compares in pure DM for me.
Doom is a close second, tied with Blood. Not Skulltag though... railguns? Naaah.

Hell no. For Onslaught maybe, but for straight-up DM it's as leaden as any of the other Unreal games. Well, I can't speak for 2007 'cos I've never played it.
