I didn't. But my point still stands.

Not that your point means anything then :S Valve steam and punkbuster games are still more that capable of having cheats on them sadly. It's like piracy - if people want it enough they will find a way to make it happen.

Except that PB and VAC can be updated to catch new hacks. It's a lot harder to consistently thwart those two than your average DRM, and so the vast majority of the time you can play a game without encountering cheaters.

I was going to make fun of Dan Knott for being an ignorant knob but Trance saved me the trouble.

That's very ironic.
Arrogance and belief that anyone whose views are different to your own are plainly wrong have always been your strong points.
And updates will do little to stop people with private hacks - if they have something that looks natural enough and nobody suspects them (or better still for them, they get respected within the community) then there is very little chance of them getting caught. Even if for some reason they were to get caught by a lucky update, they could claim it a false positive and would most likely be believed if a high member of a community.

Are you done?
Go buy a Xbox and a copy of Halo 3 then, it's more hack proof than any PC game.

I just fired up TF2 using a speedhack that I've seen people using for over a year and it still isn't detected, amazingly.
ATM, I think I have exactly one multiplayer game that is hack-free, and that's because it uses a windows service + online verification to check for file and live variable alterations.

Jason, expect to see yourself banned from Source engine games within the month. That's how VAC2 works- when hacks are detected, it could be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before the cheater is permabanned.
