ATM, I think I have exactly one multiplayer game that is hack-free, and that's because it uses a windows service + online verification to check for file and live variable alterations.
What game?

iRacing, which seems like a weird thing to point out but racing sims tend to be hacking breeding grounds (this also applies to Mirror's Edge). But anyway, I've seen tons of hacks for TF2, Counterstrike and CS:S, L4D, the CoD games, etc and for the Valve stuff there are surprisingly several that have been around forever and are still listed as VAC-friendly.

I have never raced online, so I wouldn't know. It IS something I would want to try. The only thing is; I prefer to use an analog console pad to a keyboard/mouse for driving (unless I happen to have a decent wheel and pedal), so it is going to be a minue before I get a chance.
I can honestly say that I have NEVER cheated in an online game. I don't even really know how. I mean, I guess I could either figure it out or find it online, but I want to improve not just win.
Hell, I have played Deus Ex all the way through at least 9 times (and currently going for #10). I have never even tried the cheats on it, and I can't name one person that hasn't enabled the cheats and summoned/cheated around for fun. Same w/the GTA games. Wow, there are literally hundreds of cheats/spawns/modes for each game. The only time I even tried them was babysitting a 7 year old who wanted to just ride the scooter around in Vice City without worrying about constantly dying. I looked up a couple codes for him. It is just not my bag, man. I just never thought that was fun. If anything, it is boring.
I certainly have nothing against single player trainers/cheats/etc. A lot of people use them to either finish a game that is too tough, or add fun and therefor longevity to an old friend. It is when the online/competetive side comes into the argument, I get completely against it.

QLive indeed. The worst is, I actually got addicted again on the closed beta, and I can't find my Q3 CD any more.

I gave it a quick run through in a Virtual Machine at work today (as it only works on Windows) and it was surprisingly good. I'm not sure it'd be something that I'd really play or go back to, but it was good for a curious look at the technology.

Alas, the site was blocked with minutes of the site going live by our (quite rightly) vigilant network administration guys.
Subsequently, I tried it at home and waited for my turn in line. In this time, I managed to paint two doors with One-Coat Gloss. Unfortunately, this doesn't do exactly what it says on the tin, for it was the second coat. Don't buy water based Gloss either, because it sucks badly, and your paint will drip. Fortunately, I have the good stuff. Still needs two coats though.
Uh, anyway
When I finally got around to playing I was pretty damn impressed. Quake? In
my browser? You bet. I had one game where there was severe lag and we all resorted to typing shit like "GO NORTH" and "SHOOT GUN" into the console, but 95% of games have been lag free and a nice, pure MP FPS experience. I don't suck at it, either :D
Now, where's my Unreal Tournament '99 Live, (
http://www.epicgames.com/) Epic?

Its extremely fun, and I play regularly, but the original Quake 3 is still vastly superior.

How so? I haven't really played Live, so I don't know.

The best maps in Quake 3 are the custom ones, particularly 3wave's CTF maps. Also, weapon balance is a bit better for most gametypes.

I tried it over the weekend and was quite impressed. It ran extremely smoothly with zero lag and was very easy to set up. I have never played Quake 3 but I think I managed well enough for a newcomer :).
For a bit of nostalgia I also tried the original Quakeworld (I could find only one populated server) and holy shit that game was fast paced. I never lasted more than 5 seconds :o.
