Right-click on the brolly multiple times on the way down. If you touch down in one piece, leg it for safety. But be aware that some of those safe havens cannot be entered yet, due to invisible barriers.

Use the brolley once immediately to slow yourself and then almost immediately again and you should be OK.
@ Gloria the ladder should appear on the wall under the opening on the left higher up on the wall. If it is not you have the TrapTimedRelay problem. See earlier in the thread.

Unna's post doesn't explain why we have released a fix for a Dromed Toal Crap mission.
When you enter the Surreal room if you frob the hidden button before you frob the 3 gongs you are teleported back to the start room, but then can't get back to the Surreal room, this is bad as you need to frob all 3 gongs to open up tunnel 3 to proceed with the mission.

I missed out on the full Quamtotius Purgamentum experience in 2006. According to my notes, I quit when I could not figure out what to do in the garden. This room had me stumped this time around as well. I also got stuck in the later room where you have to use a Dark engine oddity to proceed. Thank you for the hints in this thread!
Finished in 41 minutes on "Of" with 0 of 100000000 loot. Quamtotius Purgamentum is one of the longer missions in the Total Crap FM Contest - and one of the funniest. The "Barratt" voice-overs are hilariously bad. The idiosyncratic and surreal design keeps things interesting. The only times when I wasn't enjoying my playthrough was during the two instances when I got stuck.
Glad I could finally cross this one off in my list of unplayed Thief fan missions. :D
